Upcoming Meeting— Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)- SCOPING MEETING

Draft Subarea Plan and Planned Action

TOPIC: The scoping meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the downtown proposal to encourage a compact commercial district that facilitates pedestrian access, allows mixed-use development, promotes economic development compatible with the character of Lake Stevens and stimulates a diverse array of businesses to attract visitors and meet the needs of residents. Residents and the community are invited to provide input to the environmental review process. The City will accept written comments and verbal testimony concerning the scope of the EIS at this meeting.

The range of potential legislative actions encompassed by the proposal may include adopting the subarea plan; rezoning properties consistent with the subarea plan; modifying the zoning code; revising design guidelines; designating the subarea as a Planned Action; and amending the Comprehensive Plan and Shoreline Master Program. The Downtown Lake Stevens Subarea would be designated as a Planned Action to streamline future SEPA review and encourage economic development.

WHEN: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Lake Stevens Community Center located next to City Hall at 1808 Main St.
